Fat Joe Up The Creek On Tax Evasion?

Fat Joe (Joseph Antonio Cartagena) has “Uncle Sam” on his back for not filing his federal income tax returns that was for the 07′-08′ tax year period. The 42-year-old Cartagena  had garnered over $2.7 million dollars for his record deals and concert tours, all of which he made back in 07′ and 08′. And he did acquire more earnings in 09′ and 10′ but the violation of the tax issue focuses only on him not filing for the tax years two years prior.

As of now Cartagena owes the Government over $700,000 in back taxes, and he could also face up to 2 years in prison for the tax evasion charges plus a stiff fine of $200,000. Not to mention having to come up with $250,000 for bail to remain free, but that could all end for him when he will be sentenced April 3, 2013.

Fat Joe’s first record break came back in 93′ with the album “Represent,” then in 95′ “Jealous One’s Envy” was released. He then signed on with Atlantic Records after releasing 4 record titles under the label. Fat Joe had a beef with Rapper 50 Cent, after 50 released a track on Fat Joe called “Piggy Bank.” Their beef as of now finally was squashed after years of rivalry at the BET Awards in Atlanta.

After a number of later release albums, “Fat Joe’ was signed to Imperial Records, which is aligned (via) to “Terror Squad Entertainment.” “Elephant In The Room,” was an album released after that in 08′, J.O.S.E. 2 in 09′, and Darkside 1st volume in 10′.
