Steely Dan Mug by TheRadioGuy Steely Dan was a great disco/pop group that was ahead of it’s time, they have a great variety of songs that they released during the 70’s when “Disco Nightlife,” was at it’s all-time high. Creators Donald Fagan and Walter Becker, were the leaders of the group as they paved their way through the airwaves and disco clubs establishing their “Musical Presence” amongst their fans.

Their songs reached above the #100 mark on music charts, with a variety of hit songs to boot they were a Disco Monster Making machine pumping out tunes putting an iconic spin on every note and lyric phrases (Mostly Comical But Factual aspects Of The Nightlife And Encounters With Sexy Chicks Described In most Of Their Songs).

They had a way with the usage and music ‘syncs’ with instruments, and timing which put an all together different set of sounds that put people in a state of relaxating bliss. Here is a list of some of the inspirational hits they put out back then.

  1. “Do It Again”
  2. Reelin In The Years
  3. My Old School
  4. “Bodhisattva”
  5. Show Biz Kids
  6. “East Side-Toodle-oo”
  7. Rikki Don’t Lose That Number
  8. “Peg”
  9. “Preztel Logic”
  10. “Black Cow” (Is My Favorite That Describes The Story Of  This Girl Going from Lounge To Lounge Getting high As A Freakin Kite And Drinking The Famed “Black Cow Beverage,” To Calm Her Worries Only making Her Problems Worse).

They also used other musical instruments to mix up uncanny beats like combining sounds (Usually Timed To Perfection) like Saxophones, with backgrounds sounds of  drums and bass line accompanied with the electric piano. It was combinated sounds like that, which instantly made them favorite composers of “Disco Music” and disco fiends who brought records donning the name “Aja” which was the cover of one of their six albums.

“Aja” was one of the records to go Platnium back in the late 70’s, and was widely popular. And the way that Fagan and Becker went about creating new tracks and songs was epically constructed and carefully composed with stylish detail.

That was the type of sounds at that time were played when a dude was to take his girl out, either crusin’ in the car and hitting the clubs just getting lost into the music while everything else just falls away and it’s just you and your girl living in the moment…

But hey check it out for yourself and see what makes “Steely Dan” epic and iconic…
