Dr.Dre & Jimmy Iovine Gives Millions To USC


Pic-05162013-001Both Dr.Dre & Jimmy Iovine are donating up to $70 million dollars to USC, for a “academy arts” program. The program will also feature technology and business, which will be opened for students to participate in.

The program itself will start up in 2014, and will enroll 25 students for the fall semester. 

President of USC C.L. Max Nikias left comments to what will be added to USC’s program directory, and how it is made possible by Dre & Iovine.

C.L. Max Nikias: “The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us preceive and experience artistic media. USC provides an extrordinarily rich academic, research and artistic envionment. We are committed to encouraging our students to use their intellectual and creative resources to effect change in all segments of society. our goal is to ensure that the academy is the most collaborative educational program in the world.”   -end quote.

Dr. Dre is the founder / CEO of “Aftermath Enterainment & Beats Electronics and was also co-owner of  Death Row Records“. He also helped other rapped artists get their start into the music industry like:

Being ranked the 3rd richest in the hip-hop industry, his net worth is over $200 million dollars. Jimmy Iovine is an American music producer and entrepremeur and is Co-Founder of “Interscope Records and chairman of “Interscope Geffen A&M“, and is currently developing a music subscription service “Daisy”, which is compiled with music tracks by Dr. Dre. The Company was founded by Dre in 06′. Iovine is currently working as a mentor on the popular “American Idol” show.

Iovine also worked with other music artists like John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen

It is reported that this contribution will definitely be a ‘turning point’, for USC and a brighter future for it’s students in the time ahead.
